Do templates and Synced Notes work across devices?

I noticed that the notes that are listed in the BetterNotes sync manager on one of my MacBooks do not show up on my other MacBook. Is this expected or did I do something wrong?

Technically it's not possible to automatically know which notes are synced on another device. Please use sync manager -> detect to detect synced notes in the folder.
