Command.List element steals focus on item click

Having tabindex=-1 on the cmdk-list element means it can gain focus, which it does whenever I click an element within it. That means for elements that leave the palette open on select, I lose the ability to keep typing whenever i click one. Is there a reason to have tabindex=-1 on here? I don't believe it's part of the tab order naturally being a div.
