rcon keeps waking server every few minutes for save

Im new to this image, but I've read through the docs issues and discussions and can't find anyone else with this 'issue'

Basically rcon keeps waking the server every minute to do a Rcon: Saved the world, which is unexpected behaviour, as if the server is asleep, nothing would have changed since the last save?

anyway, unsure if im using the image wrong, but is there a way to stop this, so rcon will only do this while the server is running?

It would be interesting to see the backup container logs. It should be skipping backups when it sees the mounted /data directory has a ".paused" marker file.

I'm really not a fan of the whole auto-pause logic TBH and the energy savings are likely miniscule. I know it's a weak answer, but I'd recommend not even using auto pause.

well its worth a shot because this server will rarely be used for now, and Minecraft is a ram hog 😏

Auto pause won't free up RAM. The process is put into a pause state and still retains the Java heap memory allocated from OS.

I now see there's an env var DEBUG_AUTOPAUSE but I can't remember if those extra logs are visible.
