Description
Hello and thank you for your work on this project.
I just wanted to point out that the title "Sign Language Interpreter" is misleading. What you're recognizing here is fingerspelling, which is only a small part of sign languages. It’s a helpful tool, but not the language itself.
Sign languages like ASL are complete visual languages with their own grammar, structure, and culture. They are not just the alphabet shown with handshapes.
I understand this project was made from a hearing perspective. That’s totally okay, but it's important to use the right terms so that people don’t get the wrong idea. Maybe a better title would be something like “Fingerspelling Interpreter” or “ASL Alphabet Recognition”.
Just a suggestion. Thanks again and good luck with your project.
