Feature: Set maximum width for columns in columns view (when auto-sizing)

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

Need options to set maximun witdh for columns in columns view.
And a nice trick... filenames exceeding that maximun width, should use narrow font.

Sorry, I don't understand what you are meaning for "use case"... but... untill 2019 I've been for a long time a macos user, and with macos X I've been a columns view addicted :-D , so I like so much Files wich has that viewing mode.
I request a limit to column width, because it could happens to have very long filenames, which hurt with usability.

Sure, I'm aware. And I'm aware that I don't like to resize every time exaggerated large columns, too.

Auto-sizing columns were added due to popular demand. There doesn’t seem to be as much interest in having a setting to apply a maximum size for auto-sizing. If we were to add a max width, it wouldn’t be a setting but rather a hardcoded value (users would, of course, still be able to resize columns to be larger).
