Show changed files in header or sidebar

I think it would be very nice and helpful to show the changed files somewhere fixed, for example in the header or a sidebar. This would greatly improve the usability, as I can see both the overview of which files changed, and the details of the change in each file.

I have no idea if delta is the right place to implement this, but it feels at least not wrong. If someone can recommend me a different tool (with delta integration for the diff), I'd also be thankful.
