icons are not visible with dark theme

Hi,
with android dark theme some program's icons are not visible.
This happens for the top like settings and copy and share after ocr recognition

My temporary fix for this was to force light theme for the app by adding in App.java: AppCompatDelegate.setDefaultNightMode(AppCompatDelegate.MODE_NIGHT_NO);, after super.onCreate(); and to comment out DynamicColors.applyToActivitiesIfAvailable(this);. But it is still not ideal since some icons will still be very close to the background colors... I haven't managed to find a proper fix yet.
