Open file parent folder

Hi, this is a great extension and solved one of my old standing issues.
I have a feature request/hint (I can even look into that if you give me a pointer).
I noticed that when I right click I can Execute in {}. Would it be possible to, instead of executing, opening the terminal in the parent folder?

i.e. if I right click on meta/script.sh I open the terminal in meta

And possibly I'd like to extend this behaviour to also non-exec files like txt ones

I am a bit confused about your request, because i think it is already implemented:

• when you right-click on the shell-script:
  
• when you right-click in the "empty" region (is this what you want?):
  

I guess Open Foot Here is the thing you want.

Yes, I'd like to click on any file and be able to open the terminal in that folder instead of executing the file (or not seeing anything)

Yes, exactly. And even for files that are not folders like txt ones [image: image.png]

Sorry, i am just switching to german for a second, because I am not sure if we talk about the same thing:

Aus deinem text ist mir leider nicht ganz bewusst, ob wir wirklich das gleiche meinen.
Wenn du ins "leere" (keine ahnung wie ich das besser beschreiben soll, einfach ohne datei auswahl) einen rechts klick machst, dann kommt genau das was du willst.
Ein Context menu mit "Öffne {} hier". also sozusagen:

I am sorry to tell, but I not a super huge fan to have this context menu everywhere available. Otherwise you end up like the windows-XP context menus with 20 entrys. And IMHO it make sense to have it exactly in the current situations available.

Ok. Besides personal preference (e.g. I don't use icons but I use lists and my folders can contain quite a lot of files, not just one, and I don't want always to search for the space between files to right click), I wanted to understand where I can make the change locally. I'm happy to fork the project. If you can provide a pointer I'll make the change myself to allow what I desire for all files and all locations. The thing I'd like is quite easy. Anything that I right click (folders, file, empty space) should have "open {} here" and open a terminal cd'd in that folder.

or maybe #212 will solve your problem by having a keyboard shortcut?

Thanks, I solved it myself.

For future reference to others in get_file_items after if file_.is_directory(): remove the code and the return [] and put:

        return get_directory_menu_items(
            file_.get_parent_info(), self._menu_dir_activate_cb, foreground=False, terminal_name=self._get_terminal_name()
        )
