I actually tried sideloading Spotify myself with this tweak, since I, too, wanted better EQ controls. It's a pity, really, as the tweak has seen no updates for over three years now and with current versions it just crashes when opening the equalizer section. Without a proper update from someone to this tweak, I don't see this integration working anymore. Most likely, this is the reason it hasn't gotten much attention up until now.
