### HSF Evolution
15+
16+
Steering group met last week to progress on the different items that arose:
17+
18+
- Steering Group responsibilities, chair and website updates
19+
- Advisory Group setup, identifying communities/experiments
20+
- Defining criteria for HSF Affiliate Projects, approaching key projects
21+
22+
N.B. Just to readvertise that the Steering Group membership is open for people who would like to help. We already added one new member, viz. Nicole Skidmore.
23+
24+
Looks like next SG meeting will be on Monday - more news after that.
25+

## Activities and HSF Group Updates
28+
29+
### General Standing Reminders
30+
31+
#### Website banners
32+
33+
We have the ability to put event banners on the HSF website. All it requires is a markdown file with the event data. See, e.g., files [here](https://github.com/HSF/hsf.github.io/tree/main/announcements/_posts/2023).
34+
35+
#### Meetings
36+
37+
Please try and book meetings in Indico at least 2 weeks in advance!
38+
39+
That way they go into the calendar early and they will be included in the weekly email announcement that goes to HSF Forum.
40+
41+
#### Videos
42+
43+
When meetings are recorded (recommended), please try to put them onto:
44+
45+
- [HSF YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/c/HEPSoftwareFoundation) (ask for permission to do this)
46+
- <videos.cern.ch> (recommended over posting directly)
47+
48+
Then post links to these locations. See [C&AF](https://indico.cern.ch/category/12741/) for examples.
49+
50+

66+
67+
68+
#### C++ Course and Hands-on Training

### Compute and Accelerator Forum
89+
90+

91+
92+
### Software and Computing Roundtable
93+
nothing to report/not present
94+
95+
### Event generators
96+
97+
Graeme and Stefan discussed with some of the key generator people in LPCC and MCnet last week. LPCC are setting up a new working group with experiment, theory and computing representation. Stefan will sit on that with both a CERN IT and HSF hat. This group is LHC focused. We think the HSF Generator Group can fit nicely into this landscape, providing a community forum, e.g., a link to the neutrino community, nuclear physics, etc. Plus it is a good place to discuss technical issues like HepMC3 and so on.
98+
99+
Generator conveners and some SG members will meet soon to discuss the strategy further. One topic to discuss further is how to avoid problems from the split in funding streams for NP and HEP.
100+
101+
Conveners would like to accelerate the organisation of the GPU generators workshop - maybe even before the summer.
102+
103+

104+
105+
## AOB
106+
107+
### Questionnaires
108+
109+
Given the upcoming questionnaire proliferation (ECFA computing WGs, EVERSE, ECFA-ECRs), Caterina volunteered (to ATLAS computing/EVERSE colleagues) to start a codimd (or git or?) to collect information on which groups is sending what.
110+
111+
Could the HSF be a place to host this list and how should we do this? It will grow/get updated, hopefully by those sending the questionnaires as well.
112+
113+
Google doc, as easy as possible.
114+
Wish to make results public (e.g. links to public presentations where results are discussed).
115+
116+
SPECTRUM and JENA WP2 are planning to unify their questionnaires (avoid survey fatigue!).
117+
118+
### School on ML on edge
119+
120+
Funded and organized by SMARTHEP ITN + Next Gen Trigger @ CERN: tasters for different kinds of hybrid computing architecture. Advertisement to go out soon (priority to funded students, then will open to others --> will advertise on trigger&reco list).
121+
122+
### Website
123+
124+
Still looking for any help with re-structuring the website. Indicate your interest on this [GH Issue](https://github.com/HSF/hsf.github.io/issues/1411).
125+
126+
127+
### Next Meetings
128+
129+
The next meeting will be on [4 July](https://indico.cern.ch/event/1355751/).
130+
131+
Reminder: please [sign up](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z1Z4payCpieOLiVFcC6y9j-KCj71u6xX232LHUgIHfI/edit) for chairing one of the 2024 meetings.
132+
133+
**We now have a [guide](https://hepsoftwarefoundation.org/organization/running-meetings.html) for running the meeting!**
