Can handling note creation and titling (labelling) be improved?

Hi all, for quite a long time now I've been bugged by two (related) Notes behaviours and I'm wondering if I'm the only one or is it something more people would like to improve.

The scenario in which it happens is when I open the app to make a quick note.

Expected behaviour:

1. I open the app.
2. It's instantly ready for me to type away my notes.

Current behaviour:

1. I open the app.
2. Depending on the setting, I'm presented either with the last used note or the note picker. In either case, I need to create a new note.
3. I create a new note, and for that I HAVE TO set a note title/label (usually ending up with something like "yghfffsw") and choose the type (text or checklist, 9 times out of 10 it will be text).

From my experience, that behaviour is OK when you sit in a chair and compose a well thought-through note, but not when you want to quickly note down something, often in a hurry.

Suggested improvements:

1. Introduce an option to set a default type of notes so it doesn't have to be chosen every time when a new note is created.
2. Make titling/labelling notes optional and/or move the action to AFTER a note is made or introduce a default title/label format (eg "Note 1", "Note 2" etc or date/time stamp).

FWIW, a workaround I thought of yesterday was to uncheck the "Show a note picker on startup" box, create an empty text note titled "Quicknote", and always go to it before closing the app. I'm yet to see how it's going to work in practice.

You can already do it via app shortcuts. They create new notes without asking for a type or title.

Ha, I've never cared to use app shortcuts for anything, on any app, time to change habits! Thanks!
